Annet Kossen zurück
Even though Annet Kossen took drawing- and painting lessons at the School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League during her 10 years stay in New York, she is mainly autodidact.

After her return to Amsterdam she started to write and illustrate children’s books, which were also published in Germany, France, Belgium and Denmark. Her work has been exhibited in such diverse places as the annual International Children’s Bookfair in Bologna, the Museum of Dutch Literature in the Hague and the famous Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. With her songwriter husband she made a number of TV series of Sesame Street, for which she made the illustrations, and toured Holland with her handpuppet performances based on the characters from her own books.
Making children’s books was a wonderful way to express the exuberant and playful part of herself, but over the last few years she has chosen to focus more on painting so as to give the more hidden and mysterious side of life a chance to reveal itself.
